[ It wasn't quite call time yet to be backstage, but Krista had chosen to stay close to the performance venue and their buses today. It was their first time performing in this city, and she was excited— she and Troy both were— but Krista was nervous. She wasn't exceptionally well-traveled, and new places made her anxious.
She stood in the dressing room she shared with a couple of the other girls, eyeing her rack of costumes for the concert. There was no harm in putting her costume on early, was there?
She glanced at the door behind her, and moved to stick her head out in the hall, knowing Troy couldn't be too far. ]
Tro— Mr. Dantes? Is it okay if I put my costume on now...?
[Troy is a guy known to remain calm even at the most stressful times that comes with his job as a producer. But this time is an exception... He couldn't sit for so long so he was standing on the corner, directing the stage crew and looking at his phone.
He has a lot of unread emails and text messages. But he always reads Krista's mail first, for reasons only known to him. He tucks his phone away when he heard Krista's voice calling him. ]
You should, yeah. That way we could make some last minute adjustments.
[He answered casually, but he gave Krista the first smile he ever did today.]
I don't know... it seemed fine during the last show...
[ Don't think she hasn't noticed, Troy! She is determined to get him to not stress so much while they still have the luxury of relative privacy. That's the first time she's seen him smile all day and she's going to get him to smile more, for his sake at least.
She smiles back at him, beckoning him closer through the door. ]
I'm probably going to need help attaching the bow on the back, if you don't mind...
We can never be too sure. You don't want to end up on the internet after a wardrobe malfunction.
[Troy chuckled then walked to the door of Krista's green room. He cleared his throat before entering, with a hint of hesitation in his body language. Being producer, his presence inside the green rooms isn't strange but it doesn't make it any less weird for Troy.
He entered, seeing the table of gifts for the starlet, looking away when he saw one of his own under an anonymous guise. He waits until Krista was dressed for him to help her out. In the meantime, he starts talking]
So... you nervous?
[He wants to smack himself for that question with such an obvious answer, but he is too preoccupied with so many thoughts racing through his head.]
[ She almost whines at him for that: ] Noooooo, don't say that! You'll jinx us!
[ She was already most of the way into her costume when he got there, slipping into the vest that matched her skirt. ]
Well... yeah, I'm nervous. Everyone's nervous. But we're all excited, right? It's our first time in this city and we have a great chance to make them love us.
[ She turns her back to him, reaching for the bow to offer it to him. ]
[Troy was just silent and focused. His eyes quirked for a very brief moment of surprise at Krista's kiss. He passed it off as no big deal, however it was still something he's afraid to let anyone else know]
Yeah... Jitters.
[Troy cleared his throat. He is never like this to anyone else. Krista is the only person to see his quiet and nervous side. He smiled, regardless of how nervous he was]
But I know you'll do great. My recruits are the best in the business, after all.
[Krista's expression helped a lot and made Troy smile as well. He's really nervous about being found out, since the other crew have their suspicions already. He lifts her chin and smiles at her]
I'll take your word for that. Tell you what, give me a stellar performance today and I got somethi--
[A loud, obnoxious knock on the door interupted what Troy was about to say. He groaned. He's pretty sure he sounds like a skeevy bastard from where he left off, but he puts on a calm face to open the door. It was one of the crew's supervisors - a quite attractive 20-something woman who just by the way she looks at Troy, obviously has a thing for him]
Tell me some good news.
[He said to the woman, who told him it's showtime. But she sneaks in a suggestive smile and whispered something indistinct to Troy. He just faked interest in return, chuckling awkwardly before the woman left. He cleared his throat and turned to Krista, motioning the idol to hit the stage]
[ It was now or never. If she didn't tell him now, she'd never have the courage to do it again.
Krista had been fostering these feelings for too long. Ever since she found out that her very own producer had written her all-time favorite song, she had started looking at him a little differently. Yeah, Mr. Dantes was good looking, but gosh, it wasn't like any of the girls in the company looked at him the way she did. They didn't pay attention to that little quirk that turned a lot of his smiles smirky, or the way he would sigh and sink back into his chair after phone calls with the president of the company.
They didn't see how stressed he was, how much he cared about all of them. But Krista did, and it touched her deeply. In an industry full of dishonest and selfish people, here Mr. Dantes was, making sure their songs got made and that everyone got along and that no potential gigs took advantage of them and that management was happy with all of them.
And so, here she was, standing outside of his office after everyone had left for the day, with a drink from the vending machine in her hands. A way in, she hoped, in a few ways.
She knocked on the door softly, knowing he couldn't have left yet. ]
[Krista knocked just in time. Troy just did that chair slump after finishing a bunch of paperwork. He rubbed the back of his neck and contemplated about opening the door. What has he gotten himself into? He thought.
Straightening himself up, Troy stands and fixed his tie and opened the door, seeing Krista holding a drink in her hands]
[Troy chuckled a little bit at the gesture, and kindly accepted the offering drink from Krista's hands. He noticed Krista's nervousness when she smiled, but he elected not to say anything about it. She might change that behavior and he enjoys seeing Krista being flustered]
Aw, thanks! You know I was thinking about grabbing a drink.
[Troy smiled despite the stress. He just wants to flop on back to his bed at home, but seeing Krista gave him a little more energy to stay up. Right now he's so tired that he isn't in his usual sociable self. He's stuck on what else he could say other than thanking Krista. But he feels like she's the one with something to say anyway]

Nope. I am calm as can be.
[A beat. He knows Krista can see through him like nobody else could. His expression changes slightly but still appearing calm as he could]
Actually. Yes. Feel like my heart wants to break out of my chest.

You don't have to look so nervous! Nobody's back here! Just us.

That's right! Leave it to us, Mr. Producer. We won't let you down~ !! [ And just as quickly, she drops the cutesy tone. ]
I just hope I don't bump into anybody during the show.
